Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy excelled at the World Junior Championship with 11 points in seven games. He surpassed Jonathan Huberdeau and Roy now sits atop the record for points by a Quebecer at the tournament. He was also named one of the top three players of the tournament for Team Canada along with Logan Stankoven and Connor Bedard.
Guest on 98.5, Canada's assistant coach, Stéphane Julien, praised the young player.
« Joshua is probably one of the best hockey minds I've coached at the junior level. His touch around the net is incredible. His skating has improved. He's combative and can take it physically.
He's perfect for Montreal. He's not a guy who is nervous with the puck.
I'm not worried that we'll see him with the Montreal Canadiens." - Stéphane Julien
Julien is also the head coach and general manager of the Sherbrooke Phoenix where Joshua Roy plays.
CH fans will be delighted with this statement. Joshua Roy could be a real steal for the Tricolore who drafted him in the fifth round!
Can't wait to see if he can make the roster for the Red and White next year.
