The Montreal Canadiens have a new goalie.
The Canadiens have claimed goalkeeper Samuel Montembeault off waivers, according to NHL source Elliotte Friedman. Montembeault, along with a large number of other players, was placed on waivers on Friday as teams prepare for the next season.
Montembeault played his entire career with the Florida Panthers, who released him Friday. Montembeault was chosen by the Panthers in the 3rd round (77th overall) at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
