On Sunday night, Marchand drew the ire of the NHL's disciplinary arm when playing the Boston Bruins. Marchand was in a race for the puck with veteran Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson when he gave him a clear slew-foot.
The league has agreed to give Marchand a hearing for the slew-foot, and it appears he may lose a game or two for it.
Marchand has a reputation for playing on the edge in the NHL, and the clip makes his actions appear blatant. In this perspective, Marchand looks to slam his leg into Ekman-legs, Larsson's attempting to knock him off his skates.
