"It's really just the salary cap. There are a lot of teams that are caught in the same situation. In Tampa, it's the same thing. We had to lose a big piece. We kind of knew it was coming. Whether it was anyone on the team, we knew it was going to hurt." -William Carrier
Robin Lehner adds:
"For sure it's going to leave a big hole, it's a big piece in [the locker room]. He was always happy. We were close, the Francophones on the team, so it's sure to hurt a little bit. But Flower is Flower. For sure we'll see each other in a few years."
"It's good for the media, the agents," he says. I'm sure Flower had nothing to do with it, it's agent stuff. Flower wanted to win. You'd rather be on a winning team than a rebuilding team. You'd rather be on the right team. I don't think he wanted to be traded, that he wanted to leave. There was talk on the bubble last year, in the summer, about trading him. Flower came back, won the Vezina. I don't think there's any doubt that it's a salary cap thing.»
Trust me the Golden Knights miss Fleury and he will always be their favourite man.
