You would think if you were dead last in the NHL to be traded out of town quick as possible. Look at the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes they are always trading players and most are happy to leave.

However that's not the case with the Montreal Canadiens NHL All-Star representative Nick Suzuki. Suzuki gave his stamp of approval for Montreal Canadiens new management Executive VP Jeff Gorton and Habs new GM Kent Hughes.

image

During this All-Star weekend Suzuki was asked by the media of the obvious struggles in Montreal this season, and what Canadiens GM Kent Hughes will do to fix this team? Suzuki had this to say,

image

"No matter what the new management chooses to do, I'm all in. I don't know what Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes recipe will be to make our team as good as possible. So, with a bit of luck, the reconstruction will not take too long."

Though it's been a bad and I mean bad year in Montreal, the Canadiens could make the best of a bad situation if the Habs new GM Kent Hughes plays his cards right from now till the NHL draft. With the expected trades of Jeff Petry, Ben Chiarot, Brendan Gallagher, Tyler Toffoli, and other possible trades we don't know, Kent Hughes will have a pile of picks to fill up his cupboard.

Let's also not forget the draft lottery to which the Canadiens are hoping to land the projected 1st overall, pick Shane Wright, and they will be on their way to fixing the team.
