According to Sportsnet host Jeff Marek, Edmonton Oilers offensive defenseman Tyson Barrie is on the trade market as the Alberta team looks to free up some payroll space.
According to Marek, the Habs could be a great destination for him.
Of course, that's if Jeff Petry is traded to the Habs.
Tyson Barrie, 30, had 41 points, including seven goals, in 73 games last season. He recorded five points in 16 playoff games. He has two seasons remaining on his $4.5 million per year contract.
Marek confirmed that Seattle would also be a possible destination for the defender.
