Penguins Emerge as Front-Runners for a Superstar Forward
The Pittsburgh Penguins have a big decision to make. They can either start selling and do a quick retool while Crosby, Malkin, and Letang are all still performing well, or they can go all in now.
It seems now, if they choose the latter, that they will be in the Timo Meier conversation.
Per Sports Illustrated, and Matt Larkin of the Daily Faceoff, Pittsburgh is a realistic landing spot for Meier. The have the picks and prospects to make it happen, it's just a matter of actually going for it.
It would be an interesting move cap-wise, as Meier still carries at $6-million cap-hit, but if the Pens could pull it off, it could be huge.
Do you think they should go all-in?
