Last summer, forward Philip Danault confirmed his signing with the Kings. Danault seemed poised for a more attacking role when he arrived in LA.
After 25 games, the situation seems to have changed.
Danault played 16 minutes against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday. He played 19:31 minutes against the Dallas Stars last night. Currently, he plays with Alex Iafallo and Viktor Arvidsson on the second line. He isn't used on the first power play.
Danault's 3 goals and 9 assists in 25 games in Los Angeles are perhaps not what he expected. To give you an idea, he'll complete the season with 39 points in 82 games. Danault has only failed to reach 40 points twice in five seasons with the Habs, both times due to injury.
In 81 games, 24 had 12 goals and 41 assists for 53 points. And his differential in Montreal outperformed his Kings differential.
His new team's record isn't horrible, but they've only won 11 games in 25.
