Informant Pierre Lebrun spoke with several NHL executives in recent weeks and according to them, Montreal Canadiens forward Phillip Danault would be worth between 4 and 4.5 million dollars per year, for a period of 4 to 5 years.
His comparable would be Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal, who receives a check of $6 million annually.
They both share similar roles and have averaged 46 points per season over the past five years. Last season, the Quebecer had 24 points in 53 games.
