Player announces retirement and joins Kraken hockey operation

The Seattle Kraken has hired young retiree Frans Nielsen in their hockey operations department.
With his fifteen seasons of NHL experience, he becomes a player development consultant.
Nielsen, 38, finished his career by playing a year in Germany with Berlin in 2021-2022.
In 925 NHL games with the Islanders and Red Wings, he scored 473 points (167 goals, 306 assists) and 166 penalty minutes. He added ten points in 24 playoff games.
