it's been reported that the Jets and Flyers are trying hard to hire Trotz.
The Jets are very close to landing him. Trotz's Manitoba roots could be a reason why the veteran picks Winnepeg. He had an interview with the Jets on Tuesday, however he left without a deal.
As for the Flyers, they are set to have an interview with Trotz very soon.
On Friday, Nick Kypreos reported that six or seven teams «have reached out to Barry Trotz camp.
Clubs under the impression the price tag could fall in the $6 million per range.»
That's because Trotz is definitely worth it, he who went to the Islanders after leading the Washington Capitals to their first Stanley Cup championship in 2018.
Six to seven clubs seems excessive, especially considering that only five teams have a head coaching vacancy.
After firing Peter DeBoer following a disastrous season in which they missed the playoffs for the first time in team history, the Knights are seeking for a new coach.
