The Vegas Golden Knights are only five years old, but they have already established themselves as the team with the worst asset management in the league.

We've seen them trade their franchise player, Marc-André Fleury for a failed 5th round pick, and we've watched as they've traded seemingly every 1st round pick they've ever owned.

Now, with their budget goaltending solution consisting of rookie sensation Logan Thompson, fabled 29 year old Laurent Broissoit, and recent trade pickup Adin Hill getting them wins, it appears another foundational piece of the team is on the move.

Robin Lehner was one of the best backup goalies in the league when he played behind Marc-André Fleury. He was then a reasonably good starter, but will be out for this entire season with injury. At $5-million per season, he doesn't fit in Vegas' cap structure, especially since they're getting better goaltending from Logan Thompson, who is under contact just above league minimum for the next three seasons.

This means a trade is likely coming, and insider Dan Rosen believes that management is committed to Thompson, Broissoit and Hill as their solution.

It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds.
