My colleague William Nadeau of the Habs&LNH site has come up with a trade proposal between the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames, with Josh Anderson as the focal point.
The name of Jakob Pelletier of the Calgary Flames is coming up a lot in the trade rumours. The 21-year-old Quebecer had an incredible first professional campaign with 62 points in 66 games in the AHL. He has 10 points in 11 games this season.
Here is the proposal in question:
To Montreal:
- Jakob Pelletier
- First round pick
Calgary:
- Josh Anderson
As my colleague William reports, this is a base, as it's certain that the Tricolore will have to take salary in return. Do the Flames want to get rid of an extra player? The only player on the Alberta roster who will become a free agent at the end of the season and is making a good salary is Milan Lucic at $5.25M.
One thing is for sure, it would be surprising if Kent Hughes decided to hold back Anderson's salary, considering he is signed through 2026-2027.
