The Edmonton Oilers lost a heartbreaking game to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night. The Oilers utterly disintegrated in Game 3 despite having a comfortable 4 - 1 lead late in the third period. As a result, there have been numerous doubts raised about superstar Connor McDavid's future and whether or not his future will be with the Oilers.

Sid Seixeiro, the former host of Sportsnet's Tim & Sid, predicted that McDavid would not put up with the environment in Edmonton for much longer.

Barstool Sports argued that McDavid deserves a better fate than the one he has had with the Oilers.

The Oilers are now facing the risk of being eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against a Winnipeg Jets team that many saw as a huge underdog before into this series, and I believe it would be difficult to argue that the Oilers have improved significantly since McDavid's ultimatum two years ago.

To make matters worse, McDavid is coming off one of the most outstanding seasons in the National Hockey League in recent memory. I can't imagine the level of frustration he must feel with his team's present predicament after scoring 33 goals and 72 assists for a total of 105 points in just 56 games this season.
