Sheldon Keefe Lights Up Joseph Woll with Clinical Finish at Optional Skate and Celebrates!
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a break in their schedule after they arrived in Columbus, to take on the Blue Jackets Friday night.
Sheldon Keefe held an optional skate and many players who would normally pass on the skate that morning, opted-in including someone you wouldn't expect.
Sheldon Keefe seen above isn't typically on-ice for the optional morning skate but decided to put one-past Joseph Woll, as he posted up on the front of the net. Looks like it Keefe still has a good wrist shot on him, despite him being bench boss all these years! The celly is a cold look, but who can blame him?
Keefe mentioned that he was looking to get on the ice to get more interaction with his players and went further than that. These types of drills where the goalie is peppered with shots are more commonplace at the end of NHL practices and given the adversity he may face from Columbus, he will need all the practice he can get.
Woll will need all the adversity as he slots in tonight over Illya Samsonov and takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets again on the 11th, as this will be his 5th NHL game in his career, as he had 4 starts in 2021-2022.
