Should The NHL Return to its Original Playoff Format?
Yes they should, because this new format hasn't been fair to most of the teams.
To be honest with you, the teams work hard all year, just to face a elite team in the first round, That sucks! You work hard all year to try and face a weaker team rather than a powerhouse team.
Take the leafs for an example, they faced the Bruins 3 times in the first round
I just don't like how the new format. You play all the teams in your division, or you play a eastern conference team in the cup finals. Don't get me started on the «Canadian Division»
It's just not fair for both countries, because you want to see Canadian teams face each other in the Finals for once. We all know Gary Bettman loves the NHL American teams more than the Canadians.
I really think they should think of going back to the original format of 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5, and simply the eastern conference versus the western conference.
