We admire that former Montreal Canadiens goaltending coach Stéphane Waite doesn't mince words.
Mario Langlois, a podcaster, asked him what is a true Montreal Canadiens player?
Here's Stephane Waite's response:
"It's someone who has leadership and character. It's someone who doesn't accept losing. He's someone who will play the right way. Not for his name on the back, but for the logo. Who will sacrifice. Who's going to be proud to carry the tradition of the Montreal Canadiens."
Waite made a nice comparison to the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks, when he was there with the team. According to him, there were two players per trio who had the Blackhawks logo tattooed on their hearts.
"There was nobody 'soft' on that team. A guy who is chill. Who won't give his 100 percent every game."
To the question: are there any chill guys on the Canadiens? Here's his answer:
"Too many. There's no doubt about it."
