Team USA Gets Punished By the Strict IIHF Rules As a Player Gets Ejected
If there is one thing this years' world junior championship is becoming known for it's the ultra-strict following of the rule-book.
While this has already affected Canada, now it was Team USA's turn to feel the wrath of the officials.
When player Kenny Connors threw a hit against the boards, he was promptly ejected from the game. It is a difficult hit to analyze, but most would agree that it would probably be a minor penalty in the NHL, or at worst a five-minute major. Instead Connors was sent to the locker room.
