It's always interesting to redo the draft order a few years later and see how different it would have been. For 2017, the entire top 10 would have been shaken up.

The NHL page has lent itself to the game and the changes are pretty major. While Nico Hischier was selected at the very top and Nolan Patrick second, the Avalanche hit a home run by selecting Cale Makar at fourth, who should have come out first.

The big winners remain the Dallas Stars, who have three players in the top six, Jason Robertson, Jake Oettinger and Miro Heiskanen.

Nick Suzuki would be seventh. The Canadiens' number one centre was selected 13th overall by Vegas. If the Golden Knights were shortsighted in sending Suzuki to the Habs for Max Pacioretty (whom they just gave away to the Hurricanes for nothing), they at least made the right choice in selecting him in the first place.

The big losers are probably the Philadelphia Flyers with the selection of Nolan Patrick. The forward has never been able to make it in the NHL and is constantly injured. Now owned by the Golden Knights, Patrick probably wouldn't have made the top 100 if the 2017 NHL Draft were to be redone today.
