The Barry Trotz sweepstakes has a new frontrunner
The NHL insider also revealed that the Philadelphia Flyers have moved quickly and have already scheduled an interview with Barry Trotz, with the insider adding that the Flyers could make a very good offer.
"As history has proven, if the Flyers are very serious about someone it's not often they don't get their individual," said Friedman. "I wonder if it's gonna come down to, like Marlon Brando in the Godfather, they are going to make him an offer that he can't refuse."
During this segment on the NHL Network, Friedman mentioned one very interesting wrinkle; the insider also hinted at the possibility of Trotz moving into management after his most recent coaching stint with the Islanders. The Nashville Predators were specifically mentioned as a possible destination in this case.
"If he wants to go into management now I think there is a possibility that could be Nashville," said Friedman.
It looks like the Flyers are likely to land Trotz.
