Analysts are unanimous: although the Tricolore will probably not make the playoffs, they are a much better team than last year and should not be at the bottom of the standings. The youngsters are progressing and new recruits, such as Kaiden Guhle, for example, are stepping up and doing a great job.

It is more at the level of the veterans that it is difficult and clearly, two of them are not unanimous in the locker room according to the panelists of TVA Sports.

Indeed, Mike Hoffman and Evgeny Dadonov are pointed out for their lack of effort.

« The more you play them, the more exposed they are because they're not working. They're hot potatoes." - Tony Marinaro

« Hoffman and Dadonov, I put both in the same basket. I'd rather see a Michael Pezzetta or a Rafael Harvey-Pinard in the lineup. Let's find a solution. - Guillaume Latendresse

« Hoffman is a bag of problems, he's a basket of crabs. He's on the fourth line and the next step is the ballot to send him to Laval." - JiC Lajoie

« Guys like Hoffman, that's not what sells your culture in the locker room. He's a one-dimensional guy, I'm not saying he's a bad guy or a bad player, but to win Stanley Cups, is he the right player? » - Maxim Lapierre

Now it remains to be seen if Kent Hughes will find solutions because clearly these two veterans are not in the team's plans.
