According to Fluto Shinzawa's recent essay for The Athletic, three Bruins battled psychologically last season. Chris Wagner, who confided in teammates Brandon Carlo and Kevan Miller. They all felt anxious.

Wagner, who is normally the first out of the tunnel before a game, became anxious when he spotted no one in the stands owing to COVID regulations.

«Honestly, I'm freaking out,» Wagner recalled this week. «There's nobody in the stands. I'm standing there and I'm like, Wow, I've got bad anxiety right now.'»

While Carlo and Miller were unaware of Wagner's problems, he revealed them to his teammates at the chapel group. Wagner unknowingly prompted both teammates to address their concerns.

«Then Miller had an admission. He was not feeling good either. Carlo spoke up as well.

«I'm struggling too,» Carlo said.
Wagner was relieved. He was not alone.»

«You just keep thinking more and more. With the quiet,» Wagner said.

«Probably the most anxiety I had was standing at the altar,» Wagner joked, «waiting for Kate to come.»
