Not surprisingly, the Calgary Flames wanted to sign forward Matthew Tkachuk to a long-term contract.
For his part, there is no question of returning to Calgary next season.
According to several sources, Tkachuk refused a deal worth more than $11M per year, plus the title of captain.
Eight years and $11 million a year. You read that right. The man said NO.
