It is all but certain that by this time next month, Rick Tocchet will be the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks.

This move has been a long time coming, and every NHL insider agrees that it is rather imminent.

In the midst of hiring a new head coach, it ultimately means that current head coach Bruce Boudreau will be fired.

Boudreau, who is still a fan favorite despite his teams recent difficulties has essentially known he would be fired from the very beginning of the season.

It's beyond disrespectful to make Boudreau coach another 2 weeks. He deserves better.

Despite that, he has kept a happy face, and he has led his damaged team into a position to at least contend for a wild card spot.

While Boudreau has been in the industry a very long time and understands the nature of the business, even he couldn't hold back from making some depressing comments regarding his future:

I just wake up everyday and go to work until they tell me not to.

Social media is coming to Boudreau's defense as this news unfolds, as everybody can agree that the Canucks' treatment of this has been absolutely horrible:

The Vancouver Canucks are growing a very negative reputation as being a classless organization this definitely isn't helping their case.

While Boudreau could very well retire once this all wraps up, if he chooses to stay in the NHL, hopefully he can find himself a better organization.
