Wayne Gretzky Proposes Major NHL Rule Change On Live TV
TNT pulled off a coup when they convinced Wayne Gretzky to join the panel. The GOAT providing insight is always fun, and when he makes a statement, people listen.
Gretzky Proposes Rule Change
Wayne Gretzky spent nearly two decades in the league, but never played in a shootout. The shootout, while entertaining, is extremely controversial, since it is deemed by many to be an unjust way to decide a game.
Some players, like Nicklas Backstrom and Nick Suzuki have developed signature shootout moves that take advantage of the nature of the play.
These moves require a lot of time, but per the current rules, as long as a player is always moving forward, it is allowed.
Gretzky has a problem with this, and he has now proposed a major rule change - a shot clock in the shootout.
This would definitely change the shootout, and maybe make it a little less lopsided.
Should the league listen to it's GOAT and make this rule change happen?
