We Now Know What it Would Cost the Maple Leafs to Acquire Jakob Chychrun
Today, Frank Seravalli revealed the asking price for Jakob Chychrun. It is very steep, but it has to be a consideration for all cap-strapped playoff teams.
Depending on who you talk to, it's two first round picks and a prospect, or it's a first round pick, first round pick equivalent and a B-level prospect.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have actively expressed interest in Chychrun, and we now know what it would cost to acquire him.
Starting off with two first-round picks, their 2023 and 2024 picks would head to Arizona.
As for the prospect, both Matthew Knies and Nick Robertson would fit the ask. It can't be forgotten, however, that the Leafs will need to send back some salary to make the deal work. Since the Coyotes are in a position of power, they will likely be able to get another B-level prospect in the deal.
To make up for the added prospect, the Coyotes will trade one of their four 2025 2nd round picks back to the Leafs.
So, the trade would look as such:
Toronto Trades:
2023 1st
2024 1st
Nick Robertson
Matthew Knies
Alex Kerfoot
Arizona Trades:
Jakob Chychrun
2025 2nd
It's a crazy price to pay, but Jakob Chychrun is a pretty good player!
