We now have the identity of the person who could be Carey Price's successor.
Seven years after a goalie (Carey Price) was named "Most Valuable Player" in the NHL, a new successor has been confirmed.
The finalists for the famous Hart Trophy are finally known.
They are Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid and goalie Igor Shesterkin.
Shesterkin, the Rangers' number one goalie, has been incredible this season. Much like Price seven years ago, he has truly had a historic campaign.
We're talking 36 wins in 53 games, a 0.935% save percentage and a 2.07 goals-against average.
Mind-blowing numbers, which could effectively make him the successor to Carey Price and the first goalie to win this trophy since Carey Price in 2014-2015.
As for Connor McDavid, he finished first in the NHL in scoring with 123 points, including 44 goals. He is the best player in the NHL.
For his part, Auston Matthews finished first in the NHL in scoring with an incredible 60 goals.
