According to credible sources like Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have acquired Calgary Flames forward Sean Monahan with their first round pick in 2023.
So why hasn't the Habs announced the trade yet?
Because Monahan had hip surgery at the end of the season and the Habs doctors want to make sure he's okay.
Also, another trade would be in the books for the Habs, who will definitely have to free up some salary.
Finally, the player has probably not been contacted, which delays the announcement.
More details to come...
