Worrying Start to the Season for Sergei Bobrovsky
The highest-paid active goalie in the NHL, Sergei Bobrovsky has had a rough start to his 2022-23 campaign. In his first season start against the Boston Bruins, he allowed his first goal on his first shot faced.
The wrist shot from Jake DeBrusk came just 21 seconds into his season. With so much salary being given to Bobrovsky, he will need to play better. While Spencer Knight is a great goalie option, Bobrovsky's $10-million salary isn't suitable for a backup.
If the Panthers want to keep their playoff hopes alive in the competitive Atlantic division, Bobrovsky will have to play up to his contract.
