According to WXYZ Detroit's Brad Galli, Yzerman openly questioned the league's testing policies.
The implication seems to be that Yzerman thinks the league tests too often, leading in positive tests that force asymptomatic athletes out of the game. Yzerman's concerns appear to be centred on testing immunised players who have no symptoms at the time of testing, a practise I believe Yzerman would like to see end.
Yzerman also seemed to dismiss the seriousness of Covid's threat to vaccinated players by stating that most cases this season had been a light cold.
Yzerman is such a wise person and a revered sports legend that I feel his words will give the NHL pause and potentially cause them to reevaluate their current practises.
