If there's one thing a lot of teams want going into the playoffs, it's to be hard to play against. This is more than just being a good team, it's being a team that frustrates and outplays their opponent relentlessly.
Just look at the success Boston has had over the years with Brad Marchand to prove this point. A team that hasn't been particularly hard to play against while being incredibly talented has been the Toronto Maple Leafs.
After five straight first-round exits, clearly the Leafs need to add some grit, and it appears they've set their sights on Tyler Bertuzzi. He's such a unique archetype of a player that he won't be cheap, but it will be worth it if he helps them get over the first-round hump.
