If you are a Boston Bruins fan this might have you a little bit worried, but the Boston Bruins captain has once again declined re-signing or even talking about re-signing with Bruins the end of this season.

Patrice Bergeron was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round of the 2003 NHL Draft 45th overall and has been the Bruins captain when former captain Zdeno Chara left the Bruins for free agency.

The Boston Bruins are hoping he re-signs or they will once again could possibly lose a captain to free agency. There's still that rumor that won't go away and Bergeron hasn't answered either way with the Canadiens and Habs former agent Kent Hughes who is now the Habs GM wants Bergeron to sign with the Canadiens.

When Bergeron was asked about his future with the Bruins by the media Bergeron said,

"I'm going to play out this year and then talk about contract matters after. It's something that a lot of people have asked me this summer, and the way that I approach it this year is to just concentrate on this year. I have a year left on my contract and I think it would be useless for me to think about the long term future. I want to create something special. We want to work toward winning a Stanley Cup. I know everybody says that, but that's definitely our goal as a team. I think it's better to be in that group of playoff teams and I think that's where my focus is right now," said Bergeron.

"I know that there's a lot less time for me in this League. So, I'm pretty aware of that, that it's coming to an end at some point and I need to really enjoy that feeling and that moment,» added Bergeron, who started playing for the Bruins in the 2003-04 season.
