It has increased their depth and cleared Shea Weber's contract off the books and they should be looking to add more talent closer to the deadline. But despite multiple pieces being removed from the board, there is still players out there who could make a difference.
Shea Theodore returned from injured reserve at the end of January, so it's unlikely they need help there. But with the goalie rotation being continuously injured, they could add help during the trade deadline.
Options available are Karel Vejmelka(ARZ), Joonas Korpisalo(CBJ) Cam Talbot(OTT), and James Reimer(OTT). With Vejlmelka being an affordable cap hit and a reliable goalie on a terrible team, it wouldn't be unreasonable of an idea.
The list of forwards available is vast and chock full of depth that the Golden Knights could use to enhance their firepower. Tyler Bertuzzi is one of the forwards mentioned who Steve Yzerman is listening on, as he is going to be a UFA, the going price so far is a 1st round pick, which the Knights don't have until 2024.
Brock Boeser has been linked to Minnesota and Pittsburgh, Nick Schmaltz's term may cause issues with Vegas' already tight cap situation and Max Domi may not be moved.
All things considered, the Golden Knights will have to get creative if they want to make a trade.
