Every NHL player has a favorite celebration they have used in a NHL game and for Leafs star forward he knows his favorite one.
Matthews' Favorite Celebration
For Auston Matthews his favorite one is when he played the Chicago Blackhawks where both Matthews and Kane went toe-to-toe with the same celebration.
It was a high scoring game between the two teams, Patrick Kane had just tied the game 5-5 with one-minute remaining in the 3rd period when Matthews gave the Leafs the lead.
He Celebrated by putting his hand to the his ear and going to the glass thinking the game was over, however Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks had other plans for the young superstar.
Patrick Kane's Funny Retaliation
Right after the Leafs took the lead the Blackhawks went right back on the attack.
With only 28 seconds left in the game a Patrick Kane one timer goal tied the game at 6 a piece.
Kane went on to celebrate the exact same way the Auston Matthews had, with his hand over his ear.
A moment that many fans and even Matthews still remember 5 years later.
