Jack Eichel Reveals the Reason Why the Golden Knights Won the Stanley Cup
Jack Eichel has revealed the surprising why the Knights won the Stanley Cup.
Cassidy Reason The Knights Won The Cup
After missing the Stanley Cup playoffs altogether in 2021-22, the Vegas Golden Knights went and hired Bruce Cassidy. Cassidy came in and changed the Golden Knights locker room and coached the Golden Knights to a Stanley Cup.
Jack Eichel, the Golden Knights' star player, commented on what changed from last year to this year and gave the reason why the Golden Knights won the cup.
"It was incredible. I mean, I think what he did for our group and for me as a player, it was the reason we won, I think he came in and the way that he changed our game, but just push guys and hold everyone accountable and the way that he was able to get us to play, it was great. He was phenomenal. He was great all year." - Jack Eichel on Bruce Cassidy
Eichel was a massive part of the Knights cup victory posting 26 points in 22 games and being one of the favorites to win the Conn Smyth but that went to his linemate Jonathan Marchessault.
Cassidy's Coaching Career
A bad coach can prevent a cup-caliber team from winning it all but a good coach can push a team close to the cup over the hump. Cassidy has proved he is that high caliber of a coach.
He was fired by the 2022-23 Presidents Trophy-winning Boston Bruins last offseason but eventually got the last laugh as he defeated the team that defeated the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Cassidy's first NHL head coaching gig came back in 2002-2003 with the Washington Capitals and has coached the Capitals, the Blackhawks (as an assistant), the Bruins, and now the Golden Knights.
