NHL very interested in possible expansion market
The NHL has shown interest in a potential expansion market, and a potential revival of a long dead expansion team.
NHL Looking to Bring Hockey Back to Atlanta
Apparently, the NHL is 'very interested' in Atlanta being a potential market, and they have an an ownership group willing to bid.
Although it is unknown, this may be the revival of the Thrashers, and will bring a major league hockey team to the state for the first time since 2011.
There are still some Thrashers in the NHL, with one of the more notable ones being Blake Wheeler.
If the arena deal in Arizona falls through, could we see a team in Atlanta in the near future?
We'll just have to wait and see.
