Arizona Coyotes officially moving to Salt Lake City: Sources
Tonight some exciting but sad news has been announced by the NHL. Multiple sources are now confirming that the Arizona Coyotes will be relocating to Salt Lake City for next season.
The initial confirmation comes in from Elliotte Friedman who reveals that the team was notified today. The front office then notified the players that a move would be happening this summer.
Arizona Coyotes players have been told the team is moving to Utah, according to @FriedgeHNIC.
The announcement from Elliotte Friedman was then confirmed by reporter Craig Morgan who says an announcement could come as soon as April 17th during the Coyotes final home game.
Per multiple sources, the Coyotes have been informed that relocation to Salt Lake City is real.
Now hearing it could actually be announced on April 17; the date of the Coyotes' final game at home vs. Edmonton.
It's going to be quite an atmosphere that night at Mullett Arena.
For hockey fans, this news could be seen as exciting. A new team with potential new branding and the end to the dramatic saga in Arizona. However, for Coyotes fans this was a likely inevitable but sad day. In the coming weeks, more news will likely flood in regarding the situation.
As more information is made available we will pass it along to you.
