Sutter is known for being a farmhand that worked up to becoming an NHL coach, but his antics and outdated coaching style have worn thin on the Flames. His low-event style of defensive play, the extreme demands he makes at practice and other events, including intentionally misremembering Jakob Pelletier have contributed to his popularity rapidly decreasing.
According to Dean Molberg from The Nation Network, Kadri is not the only player who has spoken up about their frustration with Sutter. Several other Flames players have made the same threat that if Sutter is still coaching next season, they will ask to be traded.
The Flames have had an awful performance this season, it is also the final season of GM Brad Treliving's contract. Some fans believe that Sutter's impact will cause a topple of the entire Flames front office. These reports regarding Sutter remind fans of the time Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuck voluntarily left the Flames, which could have been a result of their anger with Sutter. It seems the entire front office might be replaced for next season, which could help the Flames out of their current situation.
