After playing with the Leafs for five seasons, Leo Komarov has spent the last three years of his NHL career on Long Island with the islanders, before moving to the KHL last season, this season he has switched to the SHL.

Leo Komarov is different from most players, he had more of an edge to his play style and was not afraid to throw a few punches.

Leo Komarov goes nuts on an opponent!

Earlier today, during a SHL playoff game, Leo Komarov found himself in the middle of a scrum towards the end of the second period.

Despite being held in a headlock, he still managed to land a significant amount of punches on a downed opponent before he was taken out of the scrum.

The SHL suspended Komarov for two games for his repeated punches.

A suspension of this sort is not often seen in the NHL, where it seems common for players to receive minimal consequences for punching a player in the rib with your gloves on.

Leo Komarov is a likeable guy off the ice, it makes you wonder what made him snap like that against someone who was already downed.

His punches did not benefit the team, who lost the game 7-2 and are now down 2-1 in the playoffs.
