While suffering one of the most unimaginable losses, Katie Gaudreau has become the subject of vicious online cruelty after the loss of her brothers.

The longer you think about all that transpired the night of August 30th, the more the horrors are realized and compounded. From the actual loss of two brothers the night before their sister's wedding, to the news being shared unofficially by rogue reporters without consent, up to see the utter lack of remorse in the character who is less than a man, Sean Higgins.

"So, I'm- I'm here until Thursday?"

However, the brief is far from over with the Gaudreau family as they navigate this loss while also suffering deplorable people online. Among those at the center is the deceased brothers' sister, Katie Gaudreau, who has become the target of online hate from multiple trolls.

After canceling the wedding ceremony in light of the horrific incident, some took to both of the late hockey players' sister's Instagram to leave disgusting and hateful comments. Though some are obvious burner accounts looking to make off cyberbullying scot-free, others seem to have more established private accounts that claim to be all about love and mental health advocacy. Thankfully, the responses to these comments were more on the right side of human decency.

Despite the number of hateful comments the family has suffered, they have also been fortunate enough for much more of the hockey community to gather around and honor these two men, the Gaudreau Brothers. While Johnny Gaudreau may be best known for his time with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets and Matthew Gaudreau in and all around the ECHL and AHL, their uncle may have best put into words what the world really lost: two amazing humans.

"Last night we lost two husbands, two fathers, two sons, two brothers, two sons and brothers-in-law, two nephews, two cousins, two family members, two teammates, two friends but truly two amazing humans. We want to let everyone know we are receiving your messages of love and support and we appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers. We ask for your continued respect and privacy during this very difficult period of grief.

From all our families and the bottom of our hearts (the Gaudreau, Morris, Korbitz, Venello and Joyce Families)."
