Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evander Kane has stepped up his game in their playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings. However, this player still had to answer to the face of criticism in a brilliant remark directed at Mark Spector.

The Edmonton Oilers have asserted their dominance on the ice in their playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings, currently leading 2-1. Evander Kane has stepped up his game from the regular season substantially, having pulled off the classic Gordie Howe hat trick in last night's game.

"Gordie Howe hatty for Evander Kane tonight #LetsGoOilers"

Yet, Kane has still been the target of criticism from Sportsnet columnist Mark Spector. Spector allegedly started antagonizing the player after he shut down questions on his regular season and his position in powerplays.

"I'm still the player I was, I mean I still scored a decent amount of goals this year. I haven't ever played on the powerplay here on the first unit, that's not a new thing Mark."

After this initial response from Kane, Spector went on the attack and released a now-deleted video where he berates Kane for his character. Spector asserts that Kane is more about the drama than the game itself.

"As has been the case all of Kane's career, too much drama, boys. Too much drama around Evander Kane. Useless drama. I'll do what every player on every other team does. Yeah, maintenance day, I'm gonna try hard tomorrow. This is needless drama that you don't need starting playoffs, that you don't want in your dressing room. The guys we talk to about Evander Kane running his course - He doesn't run his course as a player, he runs his course as a bringer of drama."

However, Spector was caught on the losing end of the battle once again after Kane had a brilliant comeback to this criticism after asked about his favorite part of the game.

"Just the drama of it all, it brings the best out of me."

Evander Kane will have another chance to prove himself a valuable member of the team tomorrow night in the fourth game of Edmonton's series against the Los Angeles Kings. Hopefully, Kane can avoid the drama in this game and keep the Oilers in the lead.
