Matt Rempe steals the spotlight with his comments after game 2 win
The New York Rangers rookie stole the spotlight with his comments after winning game two against the Florida Panthers last night in the Madison Square Garden.
Matt Rempe is currently living the dream. After showing he deserved a spot on the line up during the regular season, the 21-year-old rookie is enjoying himself representing the Rangers in the playoffs.
Even if he's on the bench most of the time, averaging jsut over six minutes of ice-time per game since the playoffs started, he still brings his contagious positivism
and good energy in the locker room.
Last night, he was on the ice for more than 10 minutes for the first time in the playoffs and he couldn't hide his happiness during his post-game interview.
He recalled the last few minutes of the game, saying he couldn't believe Laviolette said his name with two minutes left to the game:
"I heard Lavi call my name with like 2 minutes left and I was like, 'Oh my God, let's go! Jiminy Crickets, let's go!' I was thrown out there and I just tried to buzz around and do my job."
Considering Rempe's defensive struggles, and how important that moment was, we were as surprised as him to see him on the ice at that point of the game.
Do you think the New York Rangers would make a mistake by scratching Matt Rempe in another playoff game?
