When people think of these Penguins teams, they think of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, but alongside them for the past eight years has been Jake Guentzel, who has become a superstar in the NHL in his own right.
At 29-years old, Guentzel has tallied 454 points in just 488 games at the top level, with 40 in 35 games this season, and now, he is reportedly being eyed off by several contenders.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, several teams are looking at Guentzel, with the Edmonton Oilers being one of his main suitors, but unfortunately for any of those teams, he won't come cheap.
In that report, Johnston revealed that in order to land Guentzel, a team will need to part way with a first-round pick, as well as a high-level prospect, and given his injury history, that could be a major risk.
With the Metropolitan Division race being so tight, there's a chance that Pittsburgh goes on a major run soon and finds themselves eyeing off a playoff spot, but if not, getting these assets in return for Guentzel could be a great way for this team to load up around the core once more.
