Joseph Woll Makes Bold Statement On Pride During Callup
Joseph Woll got called up to the NHL squad conveniently on Pride night. This gave him the platform to make a big statement.
Woll Pledges Support for Pride
Joseph Woll is a devout catholic. He is such a follower of his religion that he has crucified Jesus Christ on his helmet, along with an angel wing.
With many player citing religion as their reason to boycott all things Pride, Woll did the opposite.
With the Maple Leafs pride logo only inches away from Jesus Christ, Woll made the most noticed statement of the night.
«Joseph Woll, who started for the Leafs during the Pride game tonight, wore Pride Tape on his stick and the backs of his skates throughout the game.
Woll - who describes his faith as a centring force in his life - also wore the helmet sticker, right beside Jesus on the cross.»
Good on you, Joseph Woll!
