Mitch Marner Comments on Near Life-Altering Skate Injury
Mitch Marner was mere centimetres away from a life-changing injury. Luckily spared, he has now broken the silence.
Marner Comments On Scary Near-Injury
After being tripped, Blue Jackets rookie Kirill Marchenko skated directly over Marner's leg.
Marner wasn't wearing cut-resistant socks, while he does wear on his wrists, but luckily Marchenko is a pretty light guy, so Marner left uninjured. That type of injury can leave somebody with serious issues, so Marner got very lucky.
Marner commented on the scene, with a lot of gratitude for his circumstances:
Pretty lucky I got the cut-proof stuff on my wrists but not on my legs.
It's safe to say Marner will start wearing cut-resistant socks as well after this near-injury. He got lucky this time, and hopefully he can use this as fuel to be unstoppable in the playoffs.
