The Maple Leafs have one of the strongest teams in the sport. There's not much they can do to add, but what would be better than a Conn Smythe winning goalie?

Leafs Looking at Jonathan Quick

The Maple Leafs have added a ton. Brining in Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari, and Sam Lafferty at forward, as well as Jake McCabe and Erik Gustafsson at defense, they've stocked up their 18-man skater roster quite a bit.

The one place where they haven't made any changes is in net. They've been rocking the tandem of Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov (when the latter's been healthy), and they've been alright for the Maple Leafs.

Unfortunately, Murray's health is a serious concern, and with newfound cap space and assets, the Maple Leafs are logically looking at some goaltenders.

A surprising one became available overnight, as the LA Kings traded franchise legend Jonathan Quick to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

With reports that Quick is very unhappy with the move, and has no desire to play for the 32nd-place Blue Jackets team, he could be involved in the second trade of his career less than two days after his first.

Making $5.8-million on the cap, if the Blue Jackets were to retain half of his cap hit (only about $220,000 in actual money), they could get an asset for essentially nothing.

Quick is running a .870 save percentage this season, but he is still a better option than Erik Kallgren and Joseph Woll. He equally adds cup-calibre leadership. That can never be discounted.

The only question is, can the Leafs pull it off?
