The NHL Has Firmly Punished John Tavares For His Slashing Incident Against the Oilers
John Tavares is captain of the Maple Leafs for a reason, but even sometimes the calmest players get angry. Tavares has now been punished.
Tavares Fined $5000
After slashing Oilers young forward Vincent Desharnais, Tavares was fined $5000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
While this is a steep fine, it shouldn't be too much of a blow for Tavares, and his $11-million salary.
Hopefully Tavares won't see any more of his hard earned pay go to the league!
