Auston Matthews comments on the Arizona Coyotes' possible relocation

The Toronto Maple Leafs' star Auston Matthews commented on the possible relocation of his childhood team: the Arizona Coyotes.

With all the major relocation rumours surrounding the Arizona Coyotes organization over the past week, many NHLers were asked to comment on the situation.

Auston Matthews, who was a big Coyotes' fan growing up, shared his thoughts about the situation in a recent interview.

"Auston Matthews says he'd selfishly like the Coyotes to figure things out in Arizona, «but you can understand the position the NHL is in as well.»"

Matthews obviously wants to see the Coyotes remain in Arizona, just like his teammate Matthew Knies, who also had great words about the franchise:

Yes, the proud Phoenix native has caught wind of reports that his beloved Arizona Coyotes could be relocating to Utah as early as next season.

"Not too happy with the situation," Knies says. "It's pretty unfortunate. The Coyotes did a lot for me growing up, and I loved going to the games. It was a big reason as to why I got into hockey. But that kind of situation is out of my control. I'm hopeful that they can stay there, because it meant a lot to me, but I guess we're gonna have to see what happens."
