It's not a big surprise.
As per Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost a defenseman to an eastern conference team.

After playing only 11 games last season with the Maple Leafs, and 6 with the Marlies in the AHL, Victor Mete signed today a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Victor Mete going to Philadelphia. $775K/$450K with a $500K guarantee.
Mete is looking to relaunch his career
Before joining Toronto last season, Mete played with the Ottawa Senators, but he never really found his game.
His best moments were certainly with the Canadiens, as he played a career high 71 games with the team in 2018-19.
Last season, Mete recorded 2 assists with Toronto.
