BREAKING: Mysterious Player Makes an Appearance at Maple Leafs Practice

The Toronto Maple Leafs held a practice session today following their impressive 9-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

With many key defensemen sidelined with illnesses, injuries or personnal reasons, such as Morgan Rielly, Mark Giordano, William Lagesson and Conor Timmins, the Leafs recalled a surprising player to their practice.

The Maple Leafs' blue line problems continue to linger. Yesterday, William Lagesson left the game with an injury that could keep him sidelined for a while.

"Sheldon Keefe says William Lagesson «is going to miss some time» with his upper-body injury. "

To replace him, the Leafs decided to recall defenseman Marshall Rifai from the Marlies.

"Marshall Rifai, No. 83 in your programme, reporting for #Leafs practice.

Rifai, undrafted, signed a two-year deal with the Marlies last summer. In 34 games this season, the 25-year-old scored 11 points. including two goals.

The Leafs are currently preparing to face the St. Louis Blues tomorrow afternoon in what could be Rifai's NHL debut.
